Cheva Falls
Everybody had fun watching LT in his black Blazer tackling the rocks. LT was pretty daring at this spot, considering he didn't have lockers. This picture shows him trying to go up a tricky part of the trail. Most vehicles take the bypass if they don't have lockers. LT found out how difficult this way was to traverse. He was doing great until he got a little to the left and his whole Blazer slid down the rock ledge. Sliding down a rock ledge doesn't sound that bad. Well, there was a huge, sharp rock that put a nice big dent into his rocker panel and door. Everybody came over to assess the damage. LT couldn't go forward or backwards. I pulled my Jeep around to winch him. But by the time I had my cable unwound and ready to pull him up the trail, he got out. He worked the Blazer back and forth until he worked himself loose. Since the damage was done, he backed down a bit and took a higher line up the rocks. He made it this time. We were all amazed. Everybody had a great time that day. Unfortunately, I didn't scan any pictures of the actual falls. The water is run-off from the melting snow in the mountains. When we got to the falls, we sat and had lunch and talked about the past few hours of four-wheeling. After lunch , we started back the same way we came in. If you're ever in Tucson and looking for a trail to run, check out Cheva Falls. You'll have a great time on this trail. |
