ROCKCRAWLER Tom Wood's 231 Short Shaft Kit

This is the completed transfer case rear output assembly. Since the driveshaft and the Short Shaft Kit were both Tom Wood products, no head scratching needed to be done to make sure that the proper driveshaft was acquired for the conversion. This makes investing in this modification a convenient one-step process.

Please note that because of specialized hardware, it is not recommended that you install a 4:1 low-range kit in addition to the Tom Wood Short Shaft Kit.

Our TJ that was used for this installation has minimal suspension lift and stock control arms. Cam bolts were installed to adjust the pinion angle prior to this installation. As it turned out, the pinion angle was nearly perfect and needed no adjustment. Different vehicles may have different results and you should be prepared to make the necessary adjustments.

We have had the kit installed for nearly a month now and have no complaints. Our Jeep TJ experiences no driveline vibrations at all speeds. The transfer case is raised to its stock position, and it has been functioning flawlessly. Tom Wood lives up to his reputation as a valued contributer to the four-wheeling community by creating high-quality, functional products like this new Short Shaft Kit.
