What
the...!
Tell me you've been there. You're climbing on a wicked, rock-laden
trail and the only thing standing between you and victory is a boulder
½ the size of a Suzuki Samurai. You study your line, take
the advice from the spotter and you're off. You get your front left
meat up on the boulder, you crest, and then SLAM! The sickening
feeling in the pit of your stomach tells you your rocker panel is
wrecked. You then are thinking you should have listened to your
buddy when he told you you should get some Bulletproof Sidesteps
Rocker Guards.
What are
they?
If you recall back in 1998 and 1999 the Rockcrawler Project
TJ continued to take shape when we decided to test the front
and rear bumpers made by Bulletproof
Manufacturing. We reported stellar results, not to mention the
good looks. It appears Bulletproof has done it again.
You
break it, We bought it!

Bulletproof
Sidesteps Rocker Guards are just as the name implies. They provide
an easy way for you, your short friend or your spouse to climb into
your rig and they protect the rocker panels from carnage.
We decided to
try a set of Sidesteps/Rockerguards on Texas4x4, which is a '97
TJ Sport.
I
can't break 'em!
I guess they won't buy 'em.

I was pretty
excited when I was tracking the package and found out it had arrived.
I'm glad I was in my pickup when the package arrived because the
box was pretty large and heavy! Usually when I get something that
heavy the first thing that comes to my mind is "quality"
and this was certainly the case. Bulletproof uses 2x3" rectangle
tubing & 1 1/2" square tubing for the guards and both are
3/16" wall.
